Genealogy Research

Although the Internet has brought millions — nay, billions — of records within reach of anyone with access to a computer, tried and true research skills, as evidenced by the Genealogical Proof Standard are crucial in separating documentation from mere speculation. Our decades of experience in genealogy allows Discovering New Ancestors to venture beyond the familiar online sites to harvest data from dozens of alternative primary sources such as insurance policies, property records, poll books, demographic surveys, pension records and photo collections. For their part, libraries and cemeteries have in turn utilized our research to better appreciate the history of local residents.
Further, our research isn't limited to the digital realm. Each year we visit libraries, museums, and cemeteries to document and preserve data. On more than one occasion we've undertaken the cleaning and preservation gravestone markers on behalf of clients.
